Easter!  We spent Saturday day/night down at camp so on Easter morning, the boys woke up and went outside in the woods to find their Easter baskets.  The weather was beautiful and we had a great time playing outside, roasting marshmallows, riding the "TV" (as Nate calls it!).  It's nice to have a place to go and let the kids roam "free".

April 3, 2010

Dave headed down to camp on Friday night and the next morning we were supposed to join Tiffany and Brie for some Easter Festival fun before heading down to join him for an overnight.  That morning Nathaniel was up by 6:30, dressed within 15 minutes, and chomping at the bit to get going.  At 8:30 I went to look for him and found him sitting, buckled into his carseat, in the car waiting for me to be ready to leave.  The Easter festivities weren't supposed to start until 1:00 PM so I didn't see that happening.  I canceled on Tiff and Brie and got to throwing some stuff together for the trip.  I told Nathaniel he would have to wait but if he wanted to leave that badly, we'd hit the road.  He patiently sat in the car for almost an hour and a half while I threw stuff together and finished up some things so we could go.

April 1, 2010

Dave and the boys picked me up at work today and we went over to Cobbs Hill for lunch.  We got hot dogs at the street vendor and let the kids run on the playground.  The weather was gorgeous - sun and 70s.  It was great to get out of the office!!  Nathaniel wanted to come into work with me when we left the playground and when he found out he couldn't he wouldn't give me a kiss goodbye.  Instead he yelled, "Good BYE, mean KNUCKLEHEAD!"  I think he was mad at me!

That night we went to Melon Bean to meet up with Tiff & Brie.  I snapped this photo of Bug just before we left.  He's clutching his beloved "Bolt" (who is FILTHY right now from being dragged around on his "leash"!) and looks so grown up!  If you look closely you can still see remnants of the whiskers he had drawn on his face at school for his Easter celebration!  He asked me, "Mommy, do these whiskers make me look silly?"  I told him he looked very handsome but when it came time to meet his precious Brie, he was found scrubbing them off in the bathroom because he "didn't want to look silly for Brie".  Awww.....

Back on the bandwagon..

Ok, so this catching up thing isn't working very well so here's what I've decided to do...I will start today (no joke!) and move forward day-to-day...as time allows I will back-fill for my journaling needs.  It seems the longer I wait to try and catch up the harder it is to get up to date and the gap is widening daily.  Therefore, starting tonight I will pick up from today and catch up as I go...at least that's something.  Thanks for bearing with me!

March 31, 2010

Nate is so happy to be getting some time outside to ride his "motorcycle"...he acts just like Daddy, even wipes it down with a cloth when he's done riding.  Too funny!

My cheese-stick eating monkey-boy.  I could just eat him up, cheese-stick and all!

Nate got a boo boo just as we were heading out to "Walk 'N Talk" with Heidi...he was running around the living room and tripped, smashing his face into the TV table.  Ouch!
Nothing an icee pop didn't fix, though!

March 30, 2010

Auntie Pam, Shawn and Brianna came over tonight to visit so we used the opportunity to dye some Easter eggs!  I love that the kids are getting old enough for this stuff now!  The boys did very well and made BEAUTIFUL eggs!  Hopefully next year Alex won't still try to drink the egg coloring so it should be much easier!!

We're desperately trying to purge and down-size in preparation of getting our house back on the market soon.  I am very proud to say that (with the exception of some bins and blankets that need to go downstairs) Alex's room is ready.  One down...5+ to go.  It's a start anyway...

Playing Catch Up!

I know I'm really behind again but please don't be discouraged!  I will be catching up over the next couple days and will STAY ON TOP OF IT (assuming no further hard drive/photo storage/computer issues!)!  Thanks for checking in and I apologize in advance for the deluge of posts as I play this (fun!) game of catch up!

December 11, 2009

We had a slumber party at Aunt Sarah's tonight.
Home of the Pacifier Napper (a.k.a. my niece, Kensington).

After the kids finally went to sleep (which when having them all in the same room took a while!), Sarah and I cracked into a bottle (or two?) of wine and started crafting.  Here she is making the fleecy tied blanket she gave to Alex for Christmas.

December 10, 2009

We had a very busy day today!  It started with a Christmas Party at Nathaniel's school.  We had cookies and punch and the kids put on a cute little show for us, telling a story in which they each had a part, and singing lots of songs.  After each song Nathaniel stepped forward and yelled "Tank you, Tank you, BEDDY much!  Thee END!".  We were in tears laughing so hard!  Santa came to visit in the classroom and all of the kids got a present (even Alex!)  Here is Nate giving Daddy and I a present he made for us (a pine cone Christmas tree!)

Outside his school:

That night we had tickets to a VIP Meet and Greet with the The Jolly Good Fellow himself at the Strong Museum.  The kids got to play and run and go crazy.  It was nice to finally be there with Daddy instead of all by myself!  We had a nice time.

Alex saying "cheese" on command.

And because it's too cute NOT to share, here is a photo captured of a cute little curl he has in his hair.  Which, unfortunately means he's in serious need of a haircut.

P.S. - Happy Birthday, Mom!

I wonder what he's up to here...

I think that shirt says it all though...

December 7, 2009

Seriously, why didn't I use this photo for my Christmas card?  Doesn't he look like a praying angel?  How sweet!  Oh well, here it is now!  Better late than never!

On an unrelated note, Nathaniel helped me make some sugar cookies today.  He's such a good cook/baker!  Check out the concentration!

Oh how I love this little man.
This smile just lights up my world.
My little Alfalfa.
Mommy loves you, Digger Fuzz Bucket.

Breakfast with Santa at Springdale Farm!!!

We started this tradition with our friends, Tiff & Brie, a few years ago and I look forward to it every year!  Nathaniel loves going to the farm and seeing all the animals (even when it's freezing and no one else is braving the cold to see them!).  I had a hard time picking just ONE photo as I got so many good ones!  So here are a few of my favorites...

There are so many more, but you get the idea!

We also bundled the boys up and headed out to get our Christmas tree tonight.  We decided to get a pre-cut tree and support the local boy scout troop that was set up at Nathaniel's pre-school.
Here's Alex all bundled up and ready to go:

Daddy and Nate found a perfect "table top" size one.  Just what we were looking for this year to keep enquiring minds from knocking it over and/or pulling all the ornaments off it!

December 4, 2009

I had a hard time picking just one photo today.  I LOVED this picture of Alex getting dressed up in his warm stuff to head outside with us to see the Christmas lights Daddy had just put up.  (Yes, that's his brother's shirt he's wearing but he looks so stinkin' cute!)

And I never would have believed that these two would start scrapping so early in life.  They wrestle, get into screaming matches, even poke and prod each other to get each other's goat.  Little instigators.  Especially Alex.  He's little but he's a trouble maker!

This particular "match" ended like this:

Yep.  I think Nate won this one.  (No Alexes were hurt in the shooting of this little brotherly spat)

December 3, 2009

Today at work, my friend Shelby and I went over to Crestwood Children's Center to visit the new HQ of our Hillside Special Santas program.  I took some photos of the operation for an upcoming grant report I have due and I was particularly drawn to this wall.  Each of the staff members had put their hand prints here for years before the cottage was eventually desserted for new digs.  I love the colors and the legacy it represents.

December 2, 2009

Tonight the boys and I went on our weekly "Walk and Talk" with my friend, Heidi.  She had two of her three children with her so we took the opportunity to stop and see Santa as we were passing through.  Here is Nathaniel and Jayden:

And Alex and Santa:

And while we were there, Jayden took a photo of me and my boys for me.  I have so few pictures of me with my boys!  And I love this picture!
Thanks, Jayden!

Can you tell what kind of day WE had?
